In North America and around the world, there are many holidays and events from October through April that celebrate thankfulness, generosity, giving and service. These are opportunities for your members to reflect on their appreciation of others and act on the giving and service aspects of their own traditions. It’s also a prime opportunity for the club to practice its research skills by investigating the local community to identify not only the popular holidays, but also how different groups of community members celebrate their cultures and religions — and how giving and gratitude are a part of these important events.
